Preparation
We will come to your home or you can come to our sales office near you, and a representative will answer all of your questions and explain the enjoyment of owning a swimming pool.
Design
A staff designer will then put your ideas together with our experience and prepare a computer 3D presentation of your property showing you the exact location of your pool. To the right is a sample of a field drawing used for construction purposes.
Layout and Excavation
Before we excavate your pool, a representative will stake out your new pool. The stakeout will be based on your design and shows you where the pool location will be in relation to the rest of the backyard. As soon as you OK the layout, we will begin digging the pool.

This is the big day that you have been waiting for. Pool excavation requires heavy machinery including an excavator and dump trucks. The backyard that you have worked hard on becomes torn up in a matter of minutes, although we try our best to keep the mess to a minimum. The form boards for the pool are set in place and the pool is excavated.

Steel and Stub Plumbing

A crew will install the reinforcing steel to the shape of your pool. The steel reinforcing will be put in on a box style on the sides and bottom of your pool all connecting to the box beam band on the top. This steel reinforcing helps hold the gunite structure of the pool together. The steps to your pool are not steel reinforced, but will be formed at the time of gunite application.

The pool will be stub-plumbed using 2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings. The plumbing is pressure tested and inspected for leaks prior to backfilling the ditches. Stub-plumbing may occur before or after steel framing.

We will continue with plumbing after the gunite spray has been applied.

Gunite
Guniting a pool is one of the most impressive parts of the pool construction process due to the equipment involved and the skilled craftsmen that shape the pool. The gunite is pneumatically applied under high pressure to bind tightly around the steel to form a single piece gunite shell. This results in ultimate strength. When the crew leaves, the pool structure is in place and it becomes evident what the pool shape actually is.

Plumbing
A crew will dig trenches around the excavated pool and install the circulation plumbing pipes between the pool and the filtration system. The plumbing is designed to take advantage of the most efficient equipment on the market today, to keep your pool clean and purified.

Stub-plumb and plumbing of pool to equipment pad is the responsibility of Baker Pools. The homeowner is responsible for extending gas or electric lines from the respective meter to the pad. Baker Pools will provide you with the contractor who will bill you directly for the additional services.

Tile & Coping

Coping is installed around the perimeter of you pool. The coping is professionally set in place and leveled.

The tile is also carefully placed and leveled to the inside of your pool to give it a beautifully finished look.

Water Feature
Your waterfall will be built from stone selected to blend with any existing stone and all natural surroundings. The waterfall will be anchored upon the gunite-sprayed base built earlier. Plumbing of the waterfall will be done at this time.

Deck

You can choose from a large selection of deck surfaces and color to give that perfect finish to suit your surroundings. Deck planters will be located and accent rocks placed.

During the deck stage, any deck accessories (fire pits, deck jets, and umbrella or volleyball sleeves) will be placed.

Equipment Pad
The equipment pad will be poured at the same time as the deck. It will be placed in a pre-approved location. The equipment will be set when the concrete has dried. Certified, licensed electricians hook up your main electric service to your pool equipment. A certified, licensed plumber will connect your gas heater.

Plaster

Plaster is the last step in the construction of your pool; the plaster is a hand-troweled waterproof plaster finish.

After the plaster is applied, the pool will be filled with water to cure the plaster. While the plaster is curing, a staff member from Baker Pools will visit to initially brush the pool to assist in curing. After the initial brush, it will be the client's responsibility to brush the pool daily per the staff member's instructions.

Equipment Start-up

When the pool is full, we start the filtration equipment and begin analyzing the water and adding chemicals.

Now it's time to check the system. Final adjustments will be made to equipment and features to make sure that everything is operating as it should. All water flows will be double checked for maximum efficiency.

Our crew removes fence as needed for access. Fence replacement is the responsibility of the home owner. Our crew will do a site clean up and final grading at the end of construction.

Follow-Up Visit

It is time for a representative from Baker Pools to visit you at your home to teach you about the operation of your pool. He will deliver your maintenance equipment and show you how each should be used.

We want you to have as much knowledge as possible as we feel that the more you know, the happier you will be with the swimming pool.

Enjoy!
Now you are set for a lifetime of fun and enjoyment in your own backyard!
